Fire and Rescue Donation Letter (pdf)
In December, the Elmwood Fire Department received at $15,000 donation. The donation brought to the Department a valuable new addition – a Thermal Imaging Camera. The camera should help save lives and create a more efficient fire and rescue.
At the December 15, 2008 Township Board Meeting Chief Ray Haring explained the donation. Bill and Gladys Hill were crucial in starting the Elmwood Fire Department – helping purchase the first fire truck. A letter from children Jim and Ida Hill-Tompkins can be found here. The children donated the funds as a memorial to parents Bill and Gladys Hill.
